45/ Indonesia Economic Summit 2026 Launches initiative to promote Islamic world inter-cooperationÂ
Jakarta, Feb 3 (Petra) - The Indonesia Economic Summit 2026 on Tuesday announced the establishment of the regional headquarters of the B57+ Initiative in the Asia-Pacific region, as one of the strategic initiatives led by the private sector under the umbrella of the Islamic Chamber of Commerce and Development (ICCD). The initiative aims to enhance economic integration among countries of the Islamic world and link them more effectively to the global economy. It is expected to contribute to developing joint economic policies and translating agreements into tangible projects, strengthening the presence of the Islamic economy within the global growth system. ICCD President Abdullah Saleh Kamel said the establishment of the regional headquarters represents an important milestone in transforming partnerships from coordination frameworks into practical projects with direct developmental impact. He noted that the initiative was launched to address the trade and investment gap among member states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), despite their significant economic and human potential. He explained that the initiative operates as a sustainable institutional platform to strengthen public-private partnerships, contributing to the expansion of trade, stimulation of cross-border investments, job creation, and the promotion of shared prosperity, within a vision based on more balanced and equitable economic globalization. //Petra// AF
