53/ Jordan, Yemen Discuss Enhancing Educational Cooperation
Amman, Feb 3 (Petra) - Minister of Education Azmi Mahafzah met Tuesday with Yemen Ambassador to Jordan, Jalal Faqira, to discuss ways to strengthen and expand cooperation between the two brotherly countries, particularly in the education sector. During the meeting, Mahafzah emphasized the ministry’s commitment to providing Yemeni students with the same quality of education offered to their Jordanian peers, whether in public or private schools. He noted that Jordan hosts around 250,000 students from 85 nationalities, maintaining a high standard of education for all children in the kingdom despite the significant pressures on the educational system resulting from the continued reception of refugees from neighboring Arab countries. Ambassador Faqira praised the warm reception and excellent treatment of Yemenis in Jordan, describing the kingdom as their second home, and highlighted the high-quality educational services and various other facilities provided to them. He also underscored the importance of the close partnership between the two countries and expressed readiness to expand cooperation in ways that specifically support the educational process. //Petra// AF
