12/ Jordanian Narrative Project reflects land, people across history, Says Minister
Amman, Feb. 9 (Petra) -- Minister of Government Communication and Government Spokesperson Mohammad Momani said the Jordanian Narrative Project was launched under the vision of His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II to produce a comprehensive and integrated documentation of Jordan’s national history using modern scientific methodologies. Speaking during an interview on the "Pulse of the Nation" program aired on Roya TV on Sunday evening, Momani said the project enables Jordanians to contribute through preserved narratives, historical documents, and inherited materials, forming a unified scholarly reference for the Kingdom’s history. He explained that the initiative will rely on accredited sources and specialists from various disciplines, producing research outputs that meet international academic standards. Beyond its scholarly dimension, the project seeks to reinforce national identity and pride by documenting the history of Jordan’s land and people across successive periods. Momani noted that the Jordanian Narrative Project is the second major national initiative under the Crown Prince’s guidance, following the National Military Service project, reflecting a continued commitment to strengthening Jordanian national identity. He expected the project to influence political, diplomatic, and social discourse, with spillover effects on education, literature, the arts, and other sectors. The initiative consolidates prior documentation efforts by the Ministry of Culture, other state institutions, and the Royal Hashemite Court into a single, scientifically robust national framework. Outputs will include scholarly publications and media content presented through modern platforms, ensuring the narrative reaches both domestic and international audiences. Momani highlighted the Jordanian Stories platform, which allows citizens to share documents, stories, and historical images, enhancing public engagement and enriching the national narrative. He added that awareness of Jordan’s history, achievements, leadership, constitutional development, and civilizational depth will strengthen citizens’ sense of identity and national pride. //Petra// AJ
