Amman, Feb 9 (Petra) – Chief of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Major General Yousef Huneiti attended a panel discussion on Monday at the General Command of the Jordan Armed Forces – Arab Army (JAF) on defense research development, and enhancing institutional and methodological integration between JAF and the academia.

It aimed to practically utilize scientific research outputs to support defense capabilities and meet operational and technical requirements, in line with modernization and development plans adopted by JAF.

The session addressed the need to build sustainable strategic partnerships through standardizing research efforts and directing them according to national priorities, with the Armed Forces and their future needs a key focus. This contributes to raising the level of readiness and efficiency and strengthening the national innovation system in the military, defense, and security fields.

Also emphasized was the importance of creating a research environment that fosters innovation and bridges the gap between academic knowledge and practical applications, thereby strengthening reliance on national resources in developing technological solutions and defense systems.

Taking part in the panel discussion were several presidents of public and private universities, representatives of national defense industries, and senior JAF officers.
