31/ JMI Holds Workshop to Approve Communication Roadmap on Alternative Sentences

Amman, Feb 9 (Petra) - The Jordan Media Institute (JMI) on Monday organized a validation workshop to approve a communication roadmap on alternative sentences and legal aid services as part of the project to support access to justice in Jordan, funded by the European Union and implemented by the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) in partnership with the International Organization for Migration (IOM).

During the project's first phase, a strategic roadmap was prepared for awareness-raising activities related to legal aid and alternative sentences. The roadmap constitutes an integrated framework for managing communication on legal aid and alternative sentences as two main pillars of the restorative justice system.

The roadmap aims to move from scattered awareness campaigns to an institutional, coordinated, and evidence-based communication approach; support the implementation of judicial reforms; build public understanding that reduces controversy; and address the gap between high use of digital platforms and higher levels of trust in traditional media.

The workshop, attended by representatives of several media outlets, the Ministry of Justice, and the Judicial Council, aimed to review and scrutinize the final outputs of the communication roadmap on legal aid and alternative sentences, verify their consistency with practical realities, their suitability for the target audience, and their feasibility before their final adoption.
