49/ Culture Ministry Launches "Ramadan Evenings" Program Across Kingdom
Amman, Feb 11 (Petra) - The Ministry of Culture announced its "Ramadan Evenings" program, featuring a variety of activities aligned with the spiritual and social values of the holy month and emphasizing the cultural dimension of the celebrations. In a statement on Wednesday, Minister of Culture Mustafa Rawashdeh said the program offers diverse events designed to promote positive values during Ramadan, highlighting participation from several religious chant groups and Jordanian and Arab vocalists. Rawashdeh added that the program includes numerous entertainment segments for children and family-oriented activities that reflect the virtues of the holy month, noting that cultural activities have long been an integral part of Ramadan celebrations. The minister said events will take place across cultural centers in governorates throughout the Kingdom, focusing on Jordanian local identity, and include initiatives that foster social harmony and solidarity. He highlighted that the program carries positive and humanitarian messages, including visits to senior homes, orphanages, and correction and rehabilitation centers, creating a family-like atmosphere and engaging residents in the spirit of Ramadan to reinforce social and humanitarian values and promote tolerance and community interaction. Rawashdeh noted that the program also aims to actively revitalize literary and cultural forums, offering a comprehensive experience that celebrates the month’s values by combining culture, entertainment, and community engagement in family-friendly settings, providing an organized evening option for families during Ramadan. Ramadan Evenings will be held at cultural centers in all governorates every Thursday and Friday during the holy month, from 9:30 p.m. to 12:00 a.m., with open access to the public. //Petra// AF
