6/ Transport Minister Discusses Regional Connectivity with Saudi, Turkish Counterparts in Istanbul

Amman, Feb. 13 (Petra)-- Minister of Transport, Nidal Al-Qatamin, held bilateral meetings with his Saudi and Turkish counterparts to discuss regional connectivity, transport cooperation, and the development of logistics corridors.

The meetings took place on the sidelines of the Second Transport Ministers Conference of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), held in Istanbul, according to a statement issued by the ministry on Friday.

Al-Qatamin met with Saudi Minister of Transport and Logistics Services, Saleh bin Nasser Al-Jasser, to explore ways to enhance cooperation between the two countries in the transport sector. The talks focused on advancing joint connectivity projects, particularly regional railway links extending toward Turkey, in a move aimed at strengthening logistics corridors and boosting trade flows and supply chains across the region.

In a separate meeting, Al-Qatamin met with Türkiye’s Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, Abdulkadir Uralo?lu. The two sides reaffirmed the strength of bilateral relations in the transport field and discussed opportunities to expand technical and operational cooperation.

The discussions also addressed ways to enhance regional coordination with Syria through the activation of specialized technical committees comprising Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Syria, and Turkey. The committees would examine transport, connectivity, infrastructure, and coordination frameworks among the concerned countries.
