9/ JAEC wraps up nuclear science training course

Amman, Feb 14 (Petra) – The Jordan Atomic Energy Commission (JAEC) wrapped up an advanced nuclear science training course for a select group of teachers and educational supervisors from across the Kingdom.

The course, whose closing ceremony was patronized by JAEC Chairman Khaled Toukan, and attended by the Commission's Secretary-General Ahmad Sabbagh, included a comprehensive scientific and practical program, the Commission said in a statement on Saturday.

It also featured field visits to the Commission's facilities and the Jordanian Research and Training Reactor Center, allowing participants to gain firsthand experience with the latest technologies and practical applications in the field of nuclear science, it added.

The Commission said the course was an advanced stage and a continuation of the teacher training program launched at the 2025 summer camp for physics teachers and supervisors in Jordan.

The program aimed to deepen participants' specialized knowledge, enhance their practical skills, and provide them with the latest global developments in the peaceful uses of nuclear energy.

The program is part of the commission's vision to build the capacities of educational staff and empower them to efficiently and professionally transfer accurate scientific knowledge to the educational field, in addition to consolidating national awareness of the importance of nuclear science and its role in supporting innovation and sustainable development, in line with national aspirations to enhance Jordan's scientific and technological standing in this vital field, the statement said.
