  10/ Industrial Producer Prices Down 0.75% in 2025, DoS Reports

Amman, Feb. 15 -- The Industrial Producer Price Index (PPI) fell by 0.75% in 2025 compared with the same period in 2024, noting that the base year is 2018=100, according to the Department of Statistics' (DoS) monthly report.

On a monthly basis, the headline industrial PPI declined by 1.33% in December versus the same month of 2024, and fell by 0.81% compared with the previous month.

Accordingly, the 2025 industrial PPI stood at 106.32 points, down from 107.12 in the corresponding period of 2024. For December 2025, the index registered 104.85 points versus 106.26 in December 2024, and 105.71 in the preceding month (November 2025).

In cumulative terms, compared with the same period of 2024, prices for manufacturing industries, which carry a relative weight of 88.74%, decreased by 1.03%. Prices for extractive industries, with a relative weight of 5.36%, increased by 2.38%, while electricity prices, weighted at 5.91%, rose by 0.56%.

By commodity group, the December 2025 decline versus December 2024 was driven by a 1.77% drop in manufacturing prices (88.74% weight), despite increases of 4.42% in extractive industries (5.36% weight) and 0.27% in electricity prices (5.91% weight).

Month-on-month, the overall industrial PPI in December declined from the previous month due to a 0.71% decrease in manufacturing prices and a 3.74% fall in extractive industries prices, while electricity prices increased by 0.36%.
