24/ 1st national conference for school curriculum development opens in Amman
Amman, Feb. 15 (Petra) – The first national conference, themed: "Prospects for Innovation and Development in Curricula and Their Evaluation to Achieve Quality Education," kicked off activities on Sunday. Organized by the University of Jordan (UJ), in cooperation with the National Center for Curriculum Development (NCCD), the event is attended by a select group of experts, academics, and decision-makers from Jordan's various universities and educational institutions. In a statement, the university said the conference serves as a "rigorous" scientific platform, which contributes to national efforts to modernize education and improve its outcomes. The statement added that this vision is based on the belief that quality education begins with the continuous development and curricula assessment to keep pace with "rapid" cognitive, educational, and technological transformations. The university indicated that the conference provides a national opportunity for dialogue and expertise exchange, aimed to envision the future of education and curricula, promote innovation in their design, and ensure their ongoing improvement in line with national goals and the Sustainable Development Goals. The activities feature plenary and concurrent sessions on several key themes in curriculum development, quality assurance relevant regional and international experiences and other related axes. The conference organizers hope the outcomes will formulate practical and applicable scientific recommendations that contribute to developing a national roadmap for educational policy development and building "modern and flexible" curricula. //Petra// AG
