Amman, February 15 (Petra) – A security force tracked down a wanted drug dealer in one of Amman's districts, the media spokesperson for the Public Security Directorate (PSD).

The suspect had three previous drug-related convictions, along with other criminal offenses. Authorities reported that he was found in possession of a quantity of narcotics intended for sale.

According to the PSD, when officers arrived at the suspect's location and attempted to arrest him, he resisted. Security personnel engaged him to subdue him, during which one officer sustained injuries and was transported to a hospital for treatment.

The PSD stated that while being taken to a security centre for questioning, the suspect experienced a medical emergency. He was immediately transferred to a hospital, where he later died despite receiving medical care.

An autopsy determined that the cause of death was circulatory collapse resulting from drug poisoning. Authorities have launched an investigation into the incident.
