3/ New Edition of JISETF Launched
Amman, Feb. 15 (Petra) -- A new edition of the Jordanian International Science, Engineering, and Technology Fair (JISETF) was launched on Thursday, reinforcing the Kingdom’s commitment to nurturing scientific talent and innovation among young people. The exhibition, organized by the Ideal Ideas Foundation in partnership with the Crown Prince Foundation and the Ministry of Education, serves as a national platform that brings together promising school and university students from across Jordan to showcase their research, inventions and technological solutions. One of the major highlights of this year’s event is the introduction of the Sports Robotics Competition, held for the first time in the Kingdom. The competition offers robotics enthusiasts an opportunity to engage in hands-on, team-based challenges within a competitive setting designed to stimulate creativity, technical skills and problem-solving abilities. A total of 34 teams from schools and universities are participating in the exhibition, which continues to build on a track record of supporting youth excellence. Since its inception, more than 6,000 students from various governorates have taken part in its programs, with participants collectively securing over 50 top awards at prominent international science fairs, including the International Science and Engineering Fair, further elevating Jordan’s standing in global scientific forums. This year’s edition attracted around 350 projects submitted by nearly 600 students nationwide. The projects underwent a multi-stage selection process that began last September, including initial concept registration, submission of detailed proposals, electronic evaluation by specialized judging panels, and final qualification. Ultimately, 65 projects involving approximately 100 students advanced to the final exhibition round. The event highlights ongoing national efforts to cultivate a strong culture of research, innovation and technological advancement among Jordan’s youth. //Petra// WH
