  43/ Armed Forces Mark Veterans Day

Amman, Feb 15 (Petra) – The Jordan Armed Forces (JAF) on Sunday celebrated Veterans Day across its various commands, formations, and units, with the participation of several retired officers, non-commissioned officers, and personnel who served in positions of responsibility and duty.

The events were held in implementation of directives of His Majesty the Supreme Commander of the Jordan Armed Forces, King Abdullah II, and upon instructions from the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, affirming the steadfast approach of maintaining communication with fellow arms among military retirees and veterans in appreciation and loyalty for their contributions and the efforts they made throughout their service in protecting the homeland and safeguarding its achievements.

Commanders of formations and units stressed in their remarks that military retirees and veterans constitute a fundamental pillar within the Armed Forces system, given the roles they undertook that contributed to consolidating combat efficiency and enhancing combat readiness and professionalism across the various branches of the Armed Forces.

The events included military briefings and field demonstrations, in addition to introductory tours of weapons systems and equipment recently introduced into service, within the framework of the continuous modernization and development plans pursued by the Armed Forces in line with the requirements of the strategic environment.

At the conclusion of the events, military retirees expressed their pride in belonging to the Jordan Armed Forces, affirming their loyalty and standing behind the Hashemite leadership, and valuing the invitation that embodies loyalty to those who served under the victorious Hashemite banner on Veterans Day marked annually on Feb. 15.
