Amman, Feb. 17 (Petra) –Northern Military Zone on Monday thwarted an attempt to smuggle narcotics on its northern borders and within its area of ​​responsibility.

The attempt was detected by border guard units, in coordination with military security agencies.

According to a statement by Jordan Armed Forces (JAF)-Arab Army, rules of engagement were applied, and the seized items were handed over to the relevant authorities to take further action.

Additionally, Northern Military Zone foiled an infiltration attempt on Tuesday by an individual carrying narcotics and weapons after attempting to cross the border illegally.

The statement added that border guards applied rules of engagement and apprehended the infiltrator, while the seized substances handed over to the relevant authorities.
