Amman, Feb. 17 -- Senate President Faisal Fayez met separately on Tuesday with Turkish Ambassador Yakup Caymazoglu and Cypriot Ambassador Sevag Avedissian to review bilateral cooperation and explore broader partnership opportunities, with a focus on joint investment, alongside discussions on current regional developments. The meetings were held at the Senate headquarters in the presence of Senator Yassin Hasban, head of the Jordanian-Turkish parliamentary friendship committee, and Senator Issa Ayoub, head of the Jordanian-Cypriot parliamentary friendship committee. Fayez reaffirmed Jordan’s commitment to strengthening ties with both Turkey and Cyprus and maintaining coordination on issues of mutual interest, emphasizing the need to deepen economic cooperation and activate bilateral agreements across sectors. On regional developments, Fayez reiterated Jordan’s position, under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah II, in support of security and stability, and called on the international community to take effective steps to compel the Israeli occupation to fully implement the Gaza ceasefire agreement, enable sufficient humanitarian aid entry to the Strip, and halt settlement activity in the occupied West Bank. The two ambassadors commended Jordan’s role, led by the King, in advancing peace and regional stability, and in strengthening the humanitarian response for Gaza. They also expressed pride in their countries’ relations with Jordan and underscored the importance of expanding economic and investment cooperation, increasing trade, and activating bilateral agreements to serve shared interests. //Petra// AO
