36/ Environment Minister Visits Sanabel Factory, Praises Recycling Efforts
Amman, Feb 17 (Petra) – Minister of Environment Ayman Suleiman on Tuesday visited the factory of the Sanabel Company for Paper and Cardboard Industries as part of the ministry’s interest in supporting national industries and promoting sustainable environmental practices. The visit began with a field tour of the factory’s departments, during which he was briefed on production lines and the stages of paper and cardboard manufacturing, starting from the receipt of raw materials from waste paper and damaged cardboard through to the final product. A detailed explanation was provided on the factory’s role in recycling as a fundamental pillar of its production processes and how this contributes to reducing environmental burdens and improving cleanliness conditions. Suleiman commended the advanced level the factory has reached, particularly in recycling and the efficiency of operational processes, praising its commitment to environmental standards and its role in reducing the environmental impact of industry. He stressed the importance of strengthening the culture of sustainability in the industrial sector and supporting initiatives that combine economic development with environmental protection. Chairman of the Board Mahmoud Khattab said the factory plays an important environmental role by recycling large quantities of waste paper and cardboard and reintroducing them into the industrial process to produce new high-quality products, thereby reducing waste, preserving natural resources, and supporting the principles of the circular economy. For its part, the factory’s management expressed appreciation for the visit as support for the national industry and encouragement for efforts made in environmental protection and the development of recycling-based industries.
