Aqaba, Feb 17 (Petra) - The committee of the subsidized land sale project at the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA) met Tuesday with the Aqaba project's local community representatives and reviewed the latest updates in the project and its implementation stages.

Chairman of ASEZA Board of Commissioners Shadi Al-Majali, who heads the project committee, reviewed during the meeting the most prominent developments the project has witnessed to date, as well as the regulatory and technical measures taken to ensure work proceeds in accordance with the approved plans. He affirmed the authority’s keenness to listen to the observations of local community representatives and consider them when making decisions related to the project.

Al-Majali said the committee had completed a set of procedures in the project that were presented to local community representatives, including the inventory of all land plots in the project with all their classifications, and the commencement of the subdivision of organized land plots within the project in coordination with the Department of Lands and Survey.

He pointed out that work is underway to float tenders for the design of residential areas within the project in several residential neighborhoods, in addition to floating the tender for the design of the comprehensive master plan for the Northern Plain area.

According to Al-Majali, ASEZA will announce during the coming week a list of names of applicants with incomplete applications in groups via the authority’s official websites to enable applicants to complete the required documents and rectify their status on a weekly basis.

The meeting discussed technical and regulatory points with local community representatives, with the aim of reaching the best means to enhance the efficiency of the project’s implementation.
