25/ Israeli Forces Arrest 20 in West Bank, Jerusalem
Occupied Jerusalem and Ramallah, Feb. 18 -Israeli occupation forces carried out wide-scale raids and arrests across parts of the West Bank and occupied Jerusalem on Wednesday, detaining about 20 Palestinians. In a statement, Palestinian Prisoners Society (PPC) said Israeli forces raided dozens of homes and detained residents, alleging they were "wanted." In Hebron in the southern occupied West Bank, Israeli forces demolished an inhabited residential building. Hebron Governorate said forces stormed the Al-Harayiq area close to the Haggai settlement, built on citizens’ land south of the city and began demolishing the site with bulldozers. The governorate said the structure consists of two adjoining buildings, as one has 3 floors comprising six apartments, and the other has two floors, comprising ofour apartments. The governorate said the demolition was carried out despite the owners hold legal documents proving land ownership, who already filed an objection at an Israeli court against the demolition orders. Separately, dozens of Israeli settlers stormed the courtyards of Al-Aqsa Mosque in occupied Jerusalem under heavy protection by Israeli police, the Jerusalem Islamic Waqf Department said. The department said settlers performed provocative Talmudic rituals inside the compound, while some took part in group dancing and singing at the start of the first day of the holy month of Ramadan. //Petra// AO
