4/ Jordan Steps Up EU Investment Push with High-Level Rome Visit
Amman, Feb. 18 (Petra) -- Jordan has launched a high-level ministerial outreach to Italy as part of an intensified campaign to expand its investment footprint across the European Union ahead of the Jordan–EU Investment Conference scheduled for April. The delegation, comprising Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Zeina Toukan, Minister of Investment Tareq Abu Ghazaleh and Ambassador to Italy Qais Abu Dayyeh, is holding a series of meetings with Italian officials, major companies and business institutions to position Jordan as a competitive gateway for regional investment. According to the Ministry of Investment, the visit forms part of a broader government strategy to attract high-value projects and deepen economic partnerships with European markets by promoting the Kingdom’s priority sectors and recent reforms to the business environment. A centerpiece of the programme was a high-level economic forum at the Italian Trade Agency headquarters, attended by Italy’s Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Maria Tripodi and Italian Trade Agency President Matteo Zoppas. Discussions focused on strengthening bilateral investment flows and expanding cooperation between the private sectors of both countries. The delegation also held expanded bilateral meetings with companies and business leaders aimed at accelerating direct engagement, building long-term partnerships and encouraging sustainable investment into the Jordanian economy. Toukan said the visit reflects the strength of Jordanian-Italian relations and the Kingdom’s commitment to deepening economic cooperation and unlocking new investment opportunities. Abu Ghazaleh highlighted recent steps to streamline procedures and improve the business climate, noting that regulatory reforms are designed to enhance Jordan’s competitiveness and reduce barriers for investors. Abu Dayyeh said the visit underscores the momentum in Jordan’s economic partnership with Italy and the European Union as preparations intensify for the upcoming investment conference in April. //Petra// RZ
