45/ Karak Residents Celebrate Ramadan as Month of Spirituality, Charity, Community Solidarity

Karak, Feb 18 (Petra) - Citizens and academics in Karak emphasized that the holy month of Ramadan serves as an opportunity to strengthen spiritual and social values. The month reflects the principles of giving, compassion, and communal support, while also boosting economic and tourism activity alongside charitable initiatives led by both public and private institutions.

From Al-Mazar Al-Janoubi, Ahmad Al-Kharsha noted that Ramadan is not only a time for increased worship but also for mercy and human solidarity, highlighting the community’s eagerness to perform good deeds in mosques, streets, and homes.

In Al-Qasr, citizen Ahad Al-Majali stated that Ramadan embodies the ethical and social duty of spreading joy whether to a family in need, a child awaiting gifts, or a patient lacking attention extending the true meaning of fasting beyond mere abstention from food and drink.

Raed Al-Habashneh described Ramadan as a recurrent opportunity for renewal: personal repentance, fostering love and forgiveness towards others, and contributing to community welfare through active participation and giving.

Educator Sheikh Rami Asasfeh emphasized that the month enhances faith, promotes good deeds, strengthens bonds among people, and spreads compassion and kindness across the community.

From Al-Aghwar Al-Janoubiyah, citizen Omar Al-Khatbah highlighted that Ramadan encourages mercy and forgiveness, guiding individuals to overcome anger and resentment, and fostering cooperation and peace.

Islamic scholar Mahmoud Al-Maaytah explained that Ramadan instills gratitude, teaches moderation in food and water consumption, and reinforces humility, equality, and communal harmony, as people gather around shared tables regardless of social differences, reinforcing the essence of humanity.
