16/ Health Ministry Official Inspects Irbid Centers Ahead of Reopening

Irbid, Feb. 21 (Petra) - Secretary-General of the Ministry of Health for Primary Health Care and Epidemics, Dr. Riyad Al-Shiyab, inspected two health centers, Al-Sarih Comprehensive and Kufrsoum Primary, to follow up on maintenance work and their reopening in the coming days, in the presence of the European Union Ambassador to Jordan, Pierre-Christophe Chatzisavas, the World Health Organization representative, and Director of the Irbid Health Directorate Dr. Shadi Bani Hani.

Al-Shiyab affirmed that the ministry is moving forward with implementing its comprehensive plan to upgrade the infrastructure of health facilities, announcing the completion of the first phase of maintenance and rehabilitation works targeting seven health centers in Irbid Governorate.

He explained that the visit aims to review progress at these centers, noting that the development plan is not limited to building maintenance but also includes equipping the seven centers with modern and advanced medical devices. He said the upgrade will help improve the quality of primary healthcare services provided to citizens.

Al-Shiyab pointed out that the strategic objective is to enable health centers to perform their diagnostic and therapeutic roles efficiently, easing pressure on major hospitals.

He also stated that work at the two centers has entered its final phases and that they would soon be handed over and resume operations to receive patients and deliver healthcare services as usual.
