17/ Israeli army arrests 20 Palestinians, settlers torch West Bank mosque

Ramallah, Feb 23 (Petra) – Israeli occupation forces on Monday arrested 20 Palestinians during incursions across the West Bank, the Palestinian Prisoners Club said.

Troops ransacked dozens of homes and carried out field interrogations during the raids, which triggered clashes with local youths, it said in a press release.

Jewish settlers also set fire to a mosque near the towns of Sarra and Tell, west of Nablus in the northern West Bank, and sprayed racist graffiti on walls, the Tell local council said.

It said the extremists used flammable materials at the entrance to the mosque and wrote anti-Arab and anti-Muslim slogans on its walls.

The Palestinian Ministry of Religious Affairs said settler gangs attacked 45 mosques in the West Bank and occupied Jerusalem in 2025 under the protection of the occupation army. It called the burning of places of worship a serious violation and dangerous escalation.
