2/ Temperatures Drop on Friday, Rain Expected in Western Parts of the Kingdom

Amman, Jan. 2 (Petra)-- Temperatures will drop on Friday, recording levels lower than the seasonal average for this time of year. The weather will be cold and partly cloudy to cloudy, with intermittent rain showers expected in the western parts of the Kingdom from time to time. Winds will be northwesterly and moderate in speed, becoming occasionally active.

In its report, the Meteorological Department warned of reduced horizontal visibility due to fog and low-lying clouds touching the ground, particularly over mountainous areas. It also cautioned against slippery roads in areas experiencing rainfall.

On Saturday, the weather will stabilize, remaining cold across most regions, while temperatures will be relatively mild in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and Aqaba. Some low-level clouds are expected, with moderate easterly winds.

On Sunday, temperatures will rise slightly, though the weather will stay cold in most areas and mild in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and Aqaba. High-altitude clouds will appear, and winds will be moderate southeasterly.

Another slight increase in temperatures is expected on Monday. Despite this, conditions will remain cold in most regions and mild in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and Aqaba, with high clouds continuing to appear. Winds will remain moderate and southeasterly.

Temperatures in the capital Amman will range between a high of 8 degrees Celsius, and a low of 5 degrees.

Highs in the port city of Aqaba will reach 22 degrees Celsius, sliding to 13 degrees at night.
