Amman, Jan 10 (Petra)- The Eastern Military Zone officers on Saturday evening thwarted a second attempt to smuggle a quantity of narcotics along its border front and within its area of responsibility, using balloons guided by advanced electronic devices.

The balloons were detected by Border Guard forces, which engaged them and brought them down along with their payload inside Jordanian territory, in coordination with security agencies and the Anti-Narcotics Department. The seized materials were transferred to the competent authorities to take the necessary legal measures.
