25/ Jordan, Syria discuss security and judicial cooperation
Amman, Jan. 12 (Petra) -- Public Security Directorate (PSD) Director, Maj. Gen. Obeidallah Maaitah, met on Monday with Syrian Minister of Justice, Mazhar Al-Wais, and an accompanying delegation to discuss enhancing cooperation in upholding the rule of law and achieving justice. Maaitah said the PSD, acting upon royal directives, continues to bolster partnerships with law enforcement bodies in Arab and world countries for development of the judicial and legal system according to international best practices to enhance security and stability and upgrade services to society. The Syrian Minister commended Jordan's advanced status in security, justice, and the rule of law, noting PSD efforts in restorative justice and using digital solutions to streamline litigation procedures. The delegation also visited the Correctional and Rehabilitation Centers Department for a briefing on an integrated reform approach, rehabilitation programs, and inmate care services that align with human rights standards and community reintegration. //Petra// NQ
