  36/ Jordan elected first vice-presidency of executive bureau of Council of Arab Ministers of Youth and Sports 

Amman, January 13 (Petra) Jordan has won the post of First Vice-President of the Executive Bureau of the Council of Arab Ministers of Youth and Sports, in addition to chairing the Council's Technical Youth Committee for the upcoming term.

The achievement came during the participation of Minister of Youth Raed Adwan in the 49th session of the Council of Arab Ministers of Youth and Sports in Cairo.

Elections for the Executive Bureau resulted in Adwan securing the position of First Vice-President with 19 out of 22 votes. He was elected chair of the Council's Technical Youth Committee for the same term.

Adwan expressed pride in the confidence placed in him, noting that his election reflects Jordan's prominent role in Arab youth and sports affairs.

He said the positions provide an opportunity to strengthen joint Arab action in the youth sector and to develop policies and programmes that respond to young people's aspirations and keep pace with rapid changes, particularly in the areas of empowerment, innovation and participation in public life.

He added that Jordan places the youth sector among its top priorities and believes in the vital role of young people in political, economic, social and cultural life, considering them a fundamental pillar of the Kingdom's political, economic and administrative modernisation efforts.

Adwan emphasised the importance of sharing Jordan's experience in youth development with Arab ministries of youth and sports to enhance cooperation, exchange expertise and support comprehensive and sustainable development across the Arab world.

He noted that the coming phase would witness enhanced coordination among Arab ministries of youth and sports, along with the launch of impactful initiatives that serve Arab youth and expand opportunities for creativity, participation and leadership.
