Amman, Jan. 25 (Petra) -- The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research on Sunday launched the second edition of the Jordanian Universities Exhibition in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for 2026. The exhibition is organized by the ministry in cooperation with the Jordan Tourism Board, the Jordanian Embassy in Riyadh, the Jordanian Consulate General in Jeddah, and Icon International for Exhibitions and Conferences. The exhibition runs in Riyadh and Tabuk until January 29, with each city hosting a two-day event, bringing together 20 public and private Jordanian universities and colleges, along with several aviation, culinary, and hospitality academies. Jordan’s Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Haitham Abu Alfoul, inaugurated the exhibition and toured the participating institutions’ booths, where he reviewed the academic programs and specializations offered by Jordanian higher education institutions. Abu Alfoul said the exhibition represents an important platform for strengthening academic and educational cooperation between the two countries and for showcasing the quality and excellence of Jordanian universities and their academic programs. He commended the efforts of the Ministry of Higher Education and the Jordan Tourism Board in organizing the second edition of the exhibition in Riyadh and Tabuk, noting that these efforts help reinforce Jordan’s position as a leading educational destination in the region. For his part, Acting Secretary-General of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research / Chair of the Committee for Attracting International Students, Shadi Masadeh, said the ministry and the Tourism Board are making sustained efforts through the committee to implement the national strategy for attracting international students for 2023–2027. He noted that organizing and participating in educational exhibitions in target countries is a key pillar of this strategy to promote studying in Jordan. Masadeh added that Jordan is known for its reputable educational institutions, many of which hold international accreditations and rankings and have received regional and global awards in scientific research, enabling the Kingdom to attract students from around the world. He also highlighted the diversity of Jordan’s higher education institutions, which allows students to choose programs aligned with their academic aspirations. During the exhibition, the ministry delivered a comprehensive presentation on the key advantages of Jordanian universities and the higher education sector, the facilities offered to international students, and modern academic programs. Informational brochures were distributed on universities, available specializations, and credit-hour fees, which are considered competitive compared with regional universities. The Jordan Tourism Board said its participation comes within a strategic plan with partners to promote Jordan as a leading educational destination, in addition to its standing as a distinctive tourism and cultural hub. The board noted that educational exhibitions provide an ideal platform for direct engagement with students and parents, offering accurate information on academic programs and strengthening cooperation between educational institutions and the tourism sector, thereby supporting the economy and promoting educational tourism. //Petra// NQ
