35/ Ministerial Delegation Begins European Tour Ahead of Investment Conference
Amman, Jan. 26 (Petra) - A Jordanian ministerial delegation began a European tour on Monday to prepare for the Jordanian-European Investment Conference, scheduled to be held in Jordan next April. According to a statement from the Ministry of Investment, the tour is part of government efforts to ensure the conference achieves its objectives of strengthening Jordan’s presence in European markets and translating the strategic partnership between Jordan and the European Union into implementable investment projects that serve the developmental and economic goals of both sides. The delegation includes Minister of Industry, Trade, and Supply Yarub Qudah, Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Zeina Toukan, Minister of Investment Tareq Abu Ghazaleh, in addition to Jordan’s Ambassador to Brussels Yousef Bataineh. On Monday, at the European Commission headquarters in Brussels, the delegation held a high-level dialogue session during which it met with European Commissioner for the Mediterranean Dubravka ?uica and representatives of European business associations, European financial institutions, and private-sector companies. The delegation also held a meeting at the headquarters of the Arab-Belgian-Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce (ABLCC), attended by representatives of companies and the private sector in Belgium, during which the ministers reviewed key competitive advantages, investment opportunities, and the attractive investment environment in Jordan. The delegation is scheduled to hold a series of meetings to highlight qualitative investment opportunities in the Kingdom and discuss prospects for investment cooperation between Jordan and the European Union. The Jordanian-European Investment Conference is one of the outcomes of the Jordan-European Union summit held by His Majesty King Abdullah II with European Council President Ant?nio Costa and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen on the eighth of this month. During the summit, His Majesty expressed the Kingdom’s aspiration to hold the Jordanian-European Investment Conference next April in a way that strengthens economic and investment partnerships between the two sides. //Petra// AF
