53/ Israeli military carries out large-scale demolitions in southern Lebanon
Beirut, July 12 (Petra) -- The Israeli military conducted large-scale detonations on Sunday afternoon in several towns across southern Lebanon, including Zawtar al-Sharqiya, Khiam, Majdal Zoun, and Bint Jbeil, security sources said. The demolitions coincided with Israeli artillery shelling targeting the town of Kfar Tibnit in the Nabatieh district, while an Israeli drone flew over the capital, Beirut, and its southern suburbs. A Lebanese security source said Israeli drones dropped incendiary bombs on the outskirts of Jdeidet Marjayoun. The strikes ignited a large wildfire that consumed more than 100 dunams (25 acres) of agricultural land, destroying wheat fields, olive trees, and other crops. Lebanese civil defense teams are working to control the blazes and prevent them from spreading to neighboring areas. Separately, the Lebanese Ministry of Public Health said in a statement that the cumulative toll from Israeli military actions in Lebanon between March 2 and July 12 has reached 4,322 killed and 12,219 injured. //Petra// AF
