39/ Jordan attends 17th Arab security media conference

Amman, July 15 (Petra) – Jordan participated on Wednesday in the 17th Arab Conference of Heads of Security Media Agencies at the General Secretariat of the Arab Interior Ministers Council (AIMC).

The conference agenda included discussions on digital youth engagement, successful media campaigns against terrorism and crime, and the practical implementation of AI tools in security media.

In opening remarks, Mohammad bin Ali Kuman, AIMC Secretary-General, spoke about the rapid advancement of artificial intelligence (AI) as a defining future challenge for global security agencies. He warned that AI technologies are gradually exploited to commit crimes, forge documents, mimic voices, and fabricate deepfake images.

However, Kuman added that AI can also be harnessed to reinforce security operations and enhance public outreach. He noted the necessity of using digital platforms to engage younger generations, stating that any modern public awareness campaign must utilize these channels to be successful.

Kuman shifted focus to the AIMC's condemnation of Iran's ongoing aggression against several Arab nations, labeling the attacks a "flagrant violation" of international treaties and a "total disregard" for the principles of good neighborliness.

Public Security Directorate Media Director Colonel Amer Sartawi represented the Kingdom at the conference.
