50/ Arab Potash signs 10-year maintenance deal to boost power system reliability

Amman, July 15 (Petra) – Arab Potash Company (APC) has signed a 10-year maintenance agreement with Egypt's Misr Maintenance Company (San Misr), in cooperation with Siemens Energy, to provide specialised maintenance for gas turbines and heat recovery steam generators at its Ghor Al-Safi facilities.

The agreement aims to enhance the reliability and efficiency of APC's power generation system, improve operational performance and support sustainable production.

The contract was signed by APC CEO Maan Nsour and San Misr Chairman and Managing Director Mohsen Maher Qutb in the presence of APC Chairman Shehadeh Abu Hudeib and senior officials.

Under the agreement, San Misr would provide integrated maintenance services and technical support for two Siemens Energy gas turbine units that supply electricity and steam for APC's industrial operations.

Abu Hudeib said the agreement reflects APC's long-term investment in its industrial assets to strengthen operational efficiency, support future expansion and enhance its competitiveness in global markets.

He described the partnership as a model of Arab industrial cooperation.

Nsour said the deal would improve long-term operational stability, reduce emergency maintenance costs and unplanned shutdowns and support the company's environmental goals by improving energy efficiency and lowering carbon emissions.

Qutb said the agreement underscores confidence in Egyptian engineering expertise, adding that San Misr would deploy qualified technical teams to ensure the reliability and safety of APC's power systems in line with the company's future expansion plans.
