  31/ Culture Minister, US Ambassador talk boosting cultural ties

Amman, July 16 (Petra) – Minister of Culture Mustafa Rawashdeh and US Ambassador to Jordan Jim Holtsnider on Thursday discussed ways to strengthen cultural ties and expand the partnership horizons in various cultural fields, which would support exchange and cooperation between the two countries' cultural institutions.

According to a Ministry of Culture statement, Rawashdeh showcased Jordan’s international cultural presence during the meeting at the Royal Cultural Center, specifically citing Jerash Festival for Culture and Arts in this context.

He noted the four-decade-old festival serves as a "vital global" platform for intercultural dialogue and celebration of cultural diversity.

Rawashdeh also referrd to Jordan's participation in multiple activities that support cultural and artistic diversity.

Holtsnider, for his part, lauded the Kingdom's "rich" cultural heritage, historical and archaeological sites, and the hospitality and openness of its people to other cultures.

The two explored joint opportunities in the cultural and creative industries, cultural heritage preservation, professional training, and exchange programs.

Concluding the discussions, both sides pledged their commitment to maintain joint coordination and cooperation to achieve common interets.
