29/ Agriculture, water committee to address water shortages in Mafraq, Jerash
Amman, June 29 (Petra) - The Lower House (LH) Agriculture and Water Committee called on Monday for faster implementation of water projects and stronger infrastructure to address persistent supply challenges across the Kingdom. Lawmakers said that water security remains a national priority and urged improved management of water resources, quicker responses to public complaints, and accelerated project delivery. The committee reviewed complaints from residents in Mafraq and Jerash over water shortages and intermittent supply. Water Authority of Jordan's (WAJ) Secretary General Sufyan Bataineh said the Ministry of Water and Irrigation is directly addressing the issues in Mafraq and expects them to be resolved this week. He added that the ministry has dedicated a hotline for water service complaints to ensure faster response and follow-up. //Petra// HA
