Amman, June 29 (Petra) -- Jerash Festival for Culture and Arts and the Chinese Embassy in Jordan have discussed arrangements for China's first participation in the Embassy Pavilion during the festival's 40th edition, as part of efforts to expand international cultural participation.

According to a statement issued by the festival's administration on Monday, Jerash Festival Executive Director Yazan Al Khudair met with Chinese Ambassador to Jordan Guo Wei to review China's participation in the festival.

The discussions covered the participation of a Chinese delegation representing the handicrafts, cultural products and creative industries sectors, in addition to performances by the China Silk Road Ensemble on July 29 and 30 at the Hippodrome Theatre in the ancient city of Jerash.

Al Khudair said the Jerash Festival serves as an international platform for cultural exchange between Jordan and countries around the world.

For his part, Ambassador Guo said China's participation in the festival's 40th edition reflects the longstanding ties between the two friendly countries, as well as Jordan's security and stability and the festival's cultural and artistic stature.
