Amman, June 29 (Petra) - Chair of the Jordanian Businessmen Association (JBA) Ayman Alawneh and Sri Lankan Chargé d’Affaires Gajithra Navan talked on Monday about strengthening trade, investment, and economic cooperation between Amman and Colombo.

Alawneh called for translating strong bilateral ties into active business partnerships by boosting private sector engagement, exchanging trade delegations, and exploring new investment and export opportunities.

He said Jordan offers an attractive investment environment supported by modern legislation, incentives, and its strategic location as a regional trade hub.

Navan expressed Sri Lanka's interest in deepening economic relations with Jordan and discussed opportunities in food industries, tourism, information technology, education, and agriculture.

She said the embassy would support business connections and organize joint economic events.

Trade between Jordan and Sri Lanka reached around $79 million in 2024, compared with $93 million in 2023.
