7/ Jordan Condemns Continued Israeli Attacks on Syrian Territory

Amman, June 29 (Petra) -- Jordan has condemned the continued Israeli attacks on Syrian territory, including the latest incursions into the governorates of Quneitra and Daraa and the shelling of the area, describing them as a flagrant violation of Syria's sovereignty and territorial integrity.

In a statement issued on Monday, the Ministry of Foreign and Expatriates Affairs said the attacks constitute a clear breach of international law and the Charter of the United Nations.

The ministry's official spokesperson, Ambassador Sufian Qudah, called for an immediate halt to all repeated Israeli attacks and actions targeting Syria's security and stability, stressing that they also violate Israel's obligations under the 1974 Disengagement Agreement.

He warned that the continued escalation would only contribute to further conflict and instability in the region.

Qudah reaffirmed Jordan's longstanding support for Syria's efforts to rebuild on foundations that preserve its unity, sovereignty, security, stability, territorial integrity and the rights of all Syrians.

He also called on the international community to uphold its legal and moral responsibilities by compelling Israel to end its unlawful attacks on Syria, withdraw from occupied Syrian territory and respect international law, international legitimacy resolutions, state sovereignty and the principle of non-interference in the internal affairs of states.
