Amman, March 3 (Petra) -- His Majesty King Abdullah II received a phone call from Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas on Tuesday, during which they affirmed their rejection of Iran’s attacks on Jordan and a number of countries in the region.

His Majesty warned of the serious consequences of these attacks on regional peace, reiterating the need to respect the sovereignty of states and the safety of their peoples.

The call also covered the need to step up international efforts to de-escalate the ongoing situation, with the King underscoring the need to prevent the conflict from being exploited to impact the situation in the West Bank, Jerusalem, and Gaza.
