  29/ Princess Basma bint Talal delivers charity aid in Amman

Amman, March 3 (Petra) Chairperson of the Higher Committee of the Charity and Benevolence Campaign Princess Basma bint Talal on Tuesday distributed aid to targeted groups in Amman as part of the campaign's ongoing humanitarian efforts.

At the Jordan Secondary School for Boys, Princess Basma distributed food parcels to 100 women who are heads of households, as well as winter clothing to 50 children in the area.

During a visit to the Orphan Boy Charity Association in Jabal Al Nuzha, Princess Basma met with women working in the association's sewing workshop and was briefed on its operations.

She announced the campaign's support for the workshop through the provision of equipment and supplies aimed at enhancing and sustaining its work.
At the Al Siraj Al Munir Charity Association in the Al Hashimi Al Shamali area.

She reviewed the association's production kitchen and pledged support with modern equipment and supplies.

She announced assistance to provide 100 iftar meals for distribution to needy families benefiting from the association's programmes.

Princess Basma affirmed the campaign's continued commitment to its charitable and humanitarian objectives, supported by its partners.

She called for directing programmes and initiatives toward improving the living conditions of underprivileged families, meeting their basic needs under various circumstances and supporting national efforts in this regard.

In the presence of the Assistant Governor of the Capital Saleh Kilani and several members of the campaign's Higher Committee, Princess Basma commended the initiatives and programmes implemented by the targeted associations.

She praised their staff for assisting vulnerable families and creating employment opportunities through productive, income-generating projects.

P0rincess Basma discussed economic empowerment as a key factor in supporting Jordanian women and strengthening their role in the development process.

She said the campaign is committed to backing such efforts and helping provide decent employment opportunities aligned with women's capabilities and aspirations.

For their part, Yasser Abu Salem, President of the Orphan Boy Charity Association, and Wajdan Abdallat, President of the Al Siraj Al Munir Charity Association, expressed pride in their partnership with the Charity and Benevolence Campaign.

They praised its efforts to assist vulnerable groups and families, as well as to empower women and associations to establish sustainable, income-generating projects.

Founded in 2009, the Orphan Boy Charity Association provides services to approximately 150 orphans through monthly sponsorships and offers in-kind assistance to 420 families.

The association operates a sewing workshop employing five women, with products marketed locally and on a made-to-order basis.

The Al Siraj Al Munir Charity Association supports 620 orphaned families in the region through monthly assistance and sponsorships and implements a food assistance programme for vulnerable families through its productive kitchen project.
