37/ Kuwait intercepts three ballistic missiles, destroys hostile drones over 24 hours

Amman, March 8 (Petra) -- The Kuwait Ministry of Defense said Sunday that during the previous 24 hours, the Kuwait Armed Forces had destroyed three ballistic missiles in southern Kuwait and that air defenses had partially intercepted a wave of hostile drones that had entered the country's airspace.

According to the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA), Colonel Saud Al-Otaibi, the ministry spokesperson, said that Kuwait’s air defenses successfully intercepted and destroyed the three ballistic missiles in the south, while air defense systems and air force fighter jets tracked a wave of hostile drones that penetrated the country’s airspace. Some of the drones were destroyed, resulting in debris falling.

Al-Otaibi added that two drones targeted fuel tanks at Kuwait International Airport in the Subhan area and another targeted the headquarters of the Public Institution for Social Security in Kuwait City, without causing any human casualties.
