12/ Jordan, US Universities Forge Academic Partnership in Engineering Education

Zarqa, March 11 (Petra) -- The Hashemite University signed a memorandum of understanding with Colorado State University (CSU) to provide engineering students with opportunities to complete their bachelor’s and master’s studies in the United States.

According to a university statement issued Wednesday, the agreement was signed by Hashemite University President Khaled Hyari and CSU Vice Provost for International Affairs Kathleen Fairfax to strengthen academic cooperation and create joint educational pathways for students.

The memorandum outlines two main tracks for academic cooperation. The first is a Fast Track program, which allows computer engineering students at the Hashemite University, after successfully completing 132 credit hours, to transfer to CSU to complete an additional 28 credit hours.

Under the program, students will earn their bachelor’s degree from the Hashemite University, while 12 of the completed credit hours will be counted toward a master’s degree at CSU, the master’s program requires a total of 30 credit hours, meaning students will only need to complete the remaining 18 credit hours to obtain the degree, reducing both study time and financial costs.

The second track, the Graduate Transfer Pathway, allows master’s students at the Hashemite University in intelligent and secure computer systems engineering, electrical engineering, and civil/construction engineering to transfer to CSU to complete their graduate studies. Up to 12 credit hours from courses completed at the Hashemite University may be credited toward their program.

The agreement also provides financial incentives and facilities for students, including a special 33 percent discount on the base tuition fees for international students at Colorado State University.

Hyari said the partnership aligns with the university’s vision to strengthen international cooperation and provide global educational opportunities for its students, helping develop their academic and research capabilities while exposing them to advanced learning environments.

He added that cooperation with Colorado State University reflects the Hashemite University’s commitment to empowering its students, enhancing their competitive skills, and linking them with leading global academic institutions.

Hyari noted that the joint academic pathways offer a valuable opportunity for students to complete part of their studies in an advanced academic environment while benefiting from credit transfer arrangements that accelerate the completion of a master’s degree with greater efficiency in time and effort.
