Beirut, March 11 (Petra) – Israeli warplanes carried out heavy airstrikes on Beirut's southern suburb on Wednesday night, amid renewed threats by Israeli authorities for residents not to return to the area.

A Lebanese security source said the strikes targeted several locations, particularly the Mar Mikhael area, as well as sites in the Bekaa Valley and southern Lebanon.

The source said the attacks killed 12 people and wounded five.
