New York, March 17 (Petra) -- United Nations Secretary-General Ant?nio Guterres on Tuesday called for an end to the war in the Middle East and emphasized the need for diplomacy.

In a brief statement, Guterres said, "All Security Council resolutions must be implemented, and the latest resolution, No. 2817, must be respected. We note that the Gulf countries continue to be targeted."
