Amman, March 25 (Petra) -- Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and Expatriate Affairs Ayman Safadi received a phone call on Wednesday from Syria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Asaad Al-Shaibani. Safadi and Al-Shaibani renewed their condemnation of the unjustified Iranian attacks on the territories of Jordan and the Gulf Arab states. The two ministers discussed the dangerous escalation in the region and its repercussions on regional and international security and stability, as well as prospects for restoring calm through activating diplomacy in a way that ensures the security and stability of the region and respects the sovereignty of states. Safadi and Al-Shaibani stressed the need to activate joint Arab action to confront shared challenges and protect Arab national security. Safadi also condemned the Israeli attack that targeted military infrastructure in southern Syria, as a flagrant violation of Syria’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, a breach of international law, and a violation of the 1974 Disengagement Agreement between Syria and Israel. Safadi reaffirmed Jordan’s firm position in supporting the Syrian government in its efforts to protect Syria’s security, stability, sovereignty, territorial unity, and the safety of its citizens. //Petra// AF
