49/ Momani: Jordan has intercepted 255 Iranian missiles and drones targeting its territory

Amman, March 25 (Petra) -- Minister of Government Communication and Government Spokesperson Mohammad Momani stated on Wednesday that Prime Minister Jafar Hassan is conducting daily follow-ups with ministries, particularly those concerned with daily life, receiving around-the-clock reports on the readiness and impact across all sectors.

Momani told the media on Wednesday that since the onset of the war, the government has activated alternative plans through inter-ministerial coordination. These measures include expanding transport options via land crossings and coordinating with the Syrian side to utilize the Port of Lattakia if additional need arises, under agreements that ensure the continuous flow of goods.

The spokesperson emphasized that the supply and economic situation in the Kingdom remains stable, with supply chains operating normally and sustainably without interruptions. He clarified that the strategic stock of basic and food commodities is available and secure, as shipments continue to arrive in the Kingdom.

The energy sector is witnessing similar stability, Momani said, noting that the stock of petroleum products is sufficient and within safe levels. He added that fuel and gas shipments continue to arrive, with the government prepared to utilize alternatives should certain sources be interrupted.

Momani reported that the Port of Aqaba is operating at high efficiency and receiving various types of cargo. He noted interest from regional companies and countries in utilizing the port as a logistical hub to secure their needs, reflecting the reliability of Jordanian infrastructure.

Regarding fuel prices, Momani confirmed that global spikes in oil prices will not be reflected directly in the upcoming monthly domestic price schedule. Instead, price adjustments will be handled gradually and deliberately to maintain stability and ease the burden on citizens.

He further stressed that there are currently no plans for programmed or partial electricity blackouts, confirming that power supplies are stable and secure. He noted that the government will handle any developments with full transparency.

Momani called on citizens to refrain from panic-buying or hoarding commodities and petroleum products, describing such actions as unnecessary and potentially unsafe given the continued normal flow of supplies.

He emphasized that the government monitors markets daily through intensive inspection teams and will not tolerate any monopolistic practices or unjustified price hikes, stressing that such acts are economic crimes punishable by law.

On the security front, Momani stated that the Kingdom has so far dealt with 255 Iranian missiles, drones, and projectiles that targeted its territory. He affirmed the readiness of the Armed Forces and security agencies to handle any threat.

Momani underscored that attacks targeting Jordan are rejected and condemned. He stated it is unacceptable and shameful for anyone to support Iran while it commits aggression against the Jordanian homeland.

"The entire world and Iran know that Jordan has never been a launching pad for aggression against any country," Momani said. "We view the Iranian aggression as condemned and brutal, and our Armed Forces and air defenses continue to defend every inch of our Jordanian territory."

Momani concluded by stressing the importance of obtaining information from official sources and avoiding rumors. He called for strengthening trust in state institutions and adhering to official instructions to help maintain the Kingdom's stability and the continuation of normal life.
