London, March 25 (Petra) -- The United Kingdom confirmed its support for Jordan and Gulf countries, including Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE, in countering the recent military aggression launched by Iran during an urgent debate held by the United Nations Human Rights Council.

British Ambassador for Human Rights, Eleanor Sanders, told the council in Geneva that Iran must cease its attacks on the sovereignty and territorial integrity of its neighbors to enable a path toward stability and security in the region.

She also condemned Iran’s attacks on unarmed commercial vessels in the Gulf and on oil and gas facilities and its closure of the Strait of Hormuz.
