Amman, March 29 (Petra) -- The Jordan Red Crescent warned against the circulation of misleading advertisements on social media platforms in recent days, calling on citizens to volunteer in exchange for large sums of money under a purported program named "Orphan Sponsorships."

In a statement on Sunday, the organization confirmed that these advertisements are not affiliated with it in any way, urging citizens to exercise caution and refrain from engaging with them.

It stressed the importance of not opening any suspicious links or providing untrusted parties with personal information or official documents, due to the potential risks related to electronic fraud and violations of privacy.

The organization noted that all official news and statements related to its activities are published exclusively via its official social media accounts, calling on citizens to obtain information from trusted sources.
