13/ OIC Condemns Israeli Attack on Gaza-Bound Aid Flotilla in International Waters

Amman, May 1 (Petra)-- The General Secretariat of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) on Friday strongly condemned what it described as an attack by Israeli occupation forces in international waters on the "Global Sumud Flotilla," a humanitarian convoy carrying activists from dozens of countries.

The OIC said the incident constitutes a "flagrant violation" of international humanitarian law and relevant United Nations resolutions, which stress the need to protect humanitarian workers and ensure unimpeded access for aid delivery, as reported by the Saudi Press Agency.

The organization held Israel fully responsible for the safety and lives of those participating in the convoy and called on the international community to take necessary measures to investigate the incident and ensure justice and accountability under international criminal law.

It also reiterated the importance of proceeding with the implementation of the second phase of the peace plan in line with UN Security Council Resolution 2803, including the opening of all crossings, protection of humanitarian personnel, and the unhindered delivery of aid into Gaza.
