11/ Oncology conference closes with proposals to enhance early detection, research
Amman, May 2 (Petra) – The Jordanian Oncology Society (JOS) on Saturday wrapped up its 27th International Conference, which drew about 500 physicians and specialists from Jordan, the region, and the world. The gathering came up with a set of recommendations, most notably intensifying awareness campaigns on early detection, expanding the scope of medical tests and making them available and affordable or free of charge, promoting healthy lifestyles, and activating the role of media in disseminating reliable medical information. The conference emphasized the importance of research, particularly in the fields of precision medicine, targeted therapies, and immunotherapy, promoting participation in clinical trials, enhancing research collaboration regionally and internationally, employing modern technologies in diagnosis and treatment, and enhancing the role of National Cancer Registry in health planning. "The conference offered an advanced scientific platform to keep updated on latest developments in cancer diagnosis and treatment," said JOS President, Dr. Fayez Tbeishat, noting the importance of exchanging expertise and boosting cooperation among specialists. For his part, head of the Scientific Committee, Dr. Taher Abu Hajleh, said the recommendations reflect the association's commitment to raising the level of healthcare provided to cancer patients and developing medical services in this field. //Petra//SS
