Amman, May 2 (Petra) – The Eastern Military Zone foiled an attempt to smuggle a "large" quantity of narcotics using electronically guided balloons early Saturday morning.

Through surveillance, border guard units detected and intercepted the balloons, and brought down their cargo within Jordanian territory in coordination with security agencies and the Anti-Narcotics Department, according to a statement of Jordan Armed Forces (JAF)-Arab Army.

The statement said seized narcotics were transferred to the relevant authorities to take further action.
