Beirut, May 2 (Petra) – Five people were killed Saturday morning when Israeli aircraft launched airstrikes on the Iqlim al-Tuffah and Kafr Dajal regions of southern Lebanon. Thirteen other people were also killed and 32 wounded, including children and women, in overnight air raids on southern Lebanese towns, the Lebanese Ministry of Health said.

Israeli aircraft carried out airstrikes throughout the night and into the morning on four towns, while heavy artillery shelled six other towns and bombed the major town of Khiam, a Lebanese security source told Petra's correspondent in Beirut.

The source also said the Israeli army demanded that nine towns in the Nabatieh region be evacuated immediately.
